We call this effort ... Camps For CharacterThe Gulf Stream Council is blessed with superb camp locations in Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties. The Camps For Character Campaign is designed to expand, update and transform our existing camps which, after all, were never intended to serve the projected Scout population of over 30,000 by 2005!For over two years, the Gulf Stream Council has been gathering input from engineers, planning specialists and county officials, in addition to that of our adult leaders and volunteers about our camp needs - now and in the future. Beginning with the extensive renovation of The Scout Reservation at Tanah Keetah, which will become the model for the completion of the Campaign, the Gulf Stream Council is committed to creating the very finest in state-of-the-art facilities for our Scouts! Anticipated costs of the Camps For Chracter Campaign exceed $10 million.
