The Gulfstream Council Executive Board has determined individual tribute or memorial gifts of $50.00 or more are placed in the Council's Endowment Trust Fund as perpetual source of support for the Gulfstream Council Scouting. Smaller gifts are used for projects designated by the board. The principal given of $50.00 or more will be restricted - it will never be spent. Thus your contribution becomes a lasting gift. For example, you give $100 to the Tribute Fund in memory of a deceased friend or in honor of someone's birthday. The $100 goes in the Endowment Fund. If it is invested at 6%, the council operating budget gets $6 every year - forever! Your gift becomes a permanent memorial or recognition. Young people of all future generations will benefit.
Gifts may be made to the Tribute Fund in any amount. The next of kin, or person you are honoring, is notified that you have contributed, but the dollar amount is not revealed. The gift is also listed in the council's newsletter - The Gulfstream Scouter's News.
You can make a contribution as a memorial when a friend, loved one, or fellow Scouter passes away. Or use the Tribute Fund often to say Happy Birthday, Congratulations, and for other special occasions.
The Tribute Fund is a wonderful way to recognize or memorialize others, while helping insure youth are touched by Scouting's values.
